Careful. That gentleman likes
to listen in. Only say
excuse me, and he’s got your
number. Ply a girl with as much
chocolate as she wants
after lessons with the master
of elocution. Anyone care
how deep he tries to dislodge her
vernacular? It takes
a while. Watch her
promenade, her deportment’s
exquisite. So’s the way she opens
and closes her mouth. Who’d believe
she used to hustle pansies
on the street? Should anyone know
how to read and write? Freddy sends
love, two letters a day, sometimes more,
and doesn’t give a whit
about rain in Spain.
