Emily As The Hot Coal Becomes A Messy Rock

I knew it was glory
to be active
in Emily’s fire.

What I did not know
was how much
fun it would be

to smear her all over
my body once she cooled
enough to be held

against my skin.
I am caked in Emily
& though, there is

enough of her
in pure form to start
another fire,

I can live like this,
in the absence of light,
with her layering me.
